| Diagnostic Imaging of Salem is one of the few facilities in the region who can perform MRI with both open and closed magnets. Our closed magnet is a piece of sophisticated imaging technology that performs advanced studies, acquiring highly detailed and exquisite images of your body to allow for accurate diagnoses. At the same time, we do understand that the closed magnet may not be for all patients, who may be limited by claustrophobia or physical constraints. It is our opinion that these patients should not be punished by insisting that they undergo closed imaging anyway, or that they forego MRI completely. For these patients, we offer open MRI, a means by which you and your doctor can still obtain useful medical imaging information in these circumstances. In this way, we hope to provide you imaging that suits the needs of you and your physicians in a way that combines caring and expertise. |
