Barium Enema
- A preparation kit is required for use before the study; please pick this up at Diagnostic Imaging of Salem at least three days prior to exam.
- It is important to closely follow the directions of the preparation kit in order to make the study as accurate as possible.
- A planning x-ray will be obtained; if it is apparent that your colon has not been cleared adequately, you may be asked to return following additional preparation at a later time.
- The average exam time is 30 minutes.
